A time-honored way to stir up the masses and get them moving in the desired direction is to conjure up a bogeyman, then find ways to "problem-solve" through the use of tax dollars and an extension of the bureaucracy. The beauty, for the government, is that the problem never gets solved, but there are now even move new employees working for and beholden to the central authorities.Tony Phyrillas, a columnist for The Mercury writes:"The far left is behind the global warming hysteria. It's another way for liberals to force the government to spend more money and to control how the government spends tax dollars. It's a scare tactic used by political has-beens like Al Gore to stage a comeback."It's shameful that news reporters keep falling for the hysteria, but then again most reporters are liberals, so why should it surprise anyone that they would promote their political and social beliefs on the rest of us?Writing about liberal hypocrisy, Trader Daily Morning Call comments:"The Associated Press (and its many outlets) are talking about how expensive Democratic contender John Edwards' home is, and yet a part of his platform is alleviating poverty. Talk about hypocrisy. Thankfully this glaring disparity was uncovered early enough that the Democrats can find some impoverished candidate to run for president. After all, only someone who is poor can wipe out poverty."
