Intel Chief - More Surveillance

Thursday, August 02, 2007 - FreeMarketNews.com
Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell revealed in a letter to Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Penn.) that President Bush signed an executive order after Sept. 11, 2001 authorizing a "series of secret surveillance activities," according to The Washington Post. This revelation marks the first time the Bush administration has admitted to other undisclosed surveillance activities other than the warrantless surveillance of e-mails and phone calls the White House copped to in December 2005. The purpose of the letter is to clarify testimony Gonzales made to Congress in which he said there was not "serious disagreement" among administration officials over a classified NSA surveillance program, according to Raw Story.
