Analysis of Federal Aviation Administration radar by the Mutual UFO Network, a group dedicated to the scientific study of unidentified flying objects, confirms ground sightings of several unidentified aircraft on Jan. 8 flying 70 miles southeast of Fort Worth, Texas, with one appearing to head toward President Bush's ranch in Crawford.
According to MUFON, several craft were tracked on radar moving in the same direction and at the same time as sightings reported by residents of Erath County. The craft flying toward Crawford, which had no transponder and was not military, was visible on radar for more than an hour.
According to witnesses, the Crawford craft had two large amber lights similar in size and color to those on the rear of a school bus, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

Most of the time, the object moved at approximately 60 miles per hour, but at one point accelerated to 532 miles per hour in 30 seconds and then slowed to 49 miles per hour 10 seconds later.
The MUFON report reads:
"The authors are not aware of any publicized military craft capable of traveling at very low speeds for extended periods of time, accelerating rapidly to such a high speed, and then suddenly decelerating in what might best be described as a controlled crash. The closest capability would be a Harrier-type jet, but it would not be able to maintain slow speeds for such extended periods of time nor decelerate so rapidly.
"Much more important than the possible sudden acceleration shown by the object is its trajectory heading. The object was traveling to the southeast on a direct course towards the Crawford Ranch, also known as President Bush's Western White House. The last time the object was seen on radar at 8:00 p.m., it was continuing on a direct path to Crawford Ranch and was only 10 miles away. During this entire episode of over an hour, there is no indication that any of the military jets reacted to this unknown aircraft, that was without a required transponder and that was headed directly to the Western White House."
Reports of UFOs were made by dozens of people in the Dublin and Stephenville area on or about Jan. 8, although details varied.
Some said the objects were accompanied or followed by military aircraft. In some cases, witnesses described objects up to a mile long and hundreds of yards high. Others said the objects flew in formation, changed color and had lights with intensity greater than a welding torch.
"You probably think we're just a bunch of hillbillies out here," Erath County Constable Lee Roy Gaitan, who saw the objects and has given 150 interviews, told the Star-Telegram. "There were people who did doubt me, but I know I saw something."
